TRIP PREVIEW

During this 4-day trip, you will explore traditional Tennessee whiskey distilleries, enjoy hands-on aromatic medicine workshops, tour medicinal gardens, try authentic Nashville hot chicken, and enjoy educational experiences surrounded by the beauty of autumn in the south. Each step of the way, you’ll enjoy one-on-one time with FSIHS founder Dr Jessie Hawkins, and hands-on assistance from FSIHS instructors throughout the trip.

DISTILLATION

What's a trip to Nashville without exploring a distillery? We've devoted an entire day to the art of distillation of both essential oils and Tennessee whiskey. The day begins with a country breakfast, followed by aromatic medicine workshops and lessons on the latest aromatherapy science. After a casual lunch, you'll be whisked outside of town to explore the home of Tennessee whiskey. Tasting tours are available for those who wish to indulge.

GARDENS & MEDICINE

Nothing is as beautiful as Tennessee in the fall. Our botanical medicine experiences focus on taking in the stunning views by exploring medicinal gardens, lectures surrounded by nature preserves, and hands-on medicine-making workshops. Our outdoor experiences conclude with a delicious farm-to-table experience.

YOUR SCHEDULE

The trip begins at 11am Thursday October 1. After a brief meet-and-greet, we'll begin with a casual, country-style lunch featuring some of Nashville's legendary chefs. Thursday is all about holistic health so the day continues with workshops on stress reduction and mindfulness while enjoying the breathtaking views of Tennessee's fall.

Friday is focused on herbal medicine, complete with tours of local herb gardens, a walk through a nature preserve, outdoor lectures (weather permitting), and expert guidance for producing a winter medicine chest. The day concludes with a farm-to-table meal.

Saturday is all about distillation. It begins in historic downtown Franklin, where you'll enjoy a southern breakfast before mastering the art and science of aromatic medicine in the home. Then you'll head out to the countryside for a peek at Tennessee whiskey's production methods and tasting tours.

Your final day is focused on relaxation and luxury. The day begins with a hydrotherapy workshop and hands-on lab project. Then we transition to a casual lunch and final educational workshop. The day concludes at 3pm, allowing ample time for an evening flight home.
