Understanding Epidemiological Research

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, more people than ever are attempting to read, interpret, and apply findings from epidemiological research. After all, epidemiology is the field of studying the spread and containment of disease; the field as a whole literally exists for moments such as this.

But, without a background in epidemiology, the scientific literature is easy to misinterpret. And during such critical times, misinterpreting the science can have dangerous consequences.

In this FREE event on FRIDAY MARCH 20 at 11am central, Dr. Jessie Hawkins will provide critical context and guidelines to help you better understand the science so you can better protect yourself and your loved ones.

Begin with the original COVID-19 webinar, delivered on Jan 30, 2020. This webinar provides an overview of the epidemiological approach to outbreak investigation as well as the earliest findings. As this is an ongoing investigation, each of the updates covers only what has happened since the previous webinar.

The first update was given on March 2nd. The next update was given on March 16th. Because the Q&A for that session was nearly an hour, it is provided as a separate video.
